This is the main building of Unity House.

*They have several different places.
* They have the crisis center also where the mom's who are abused can run to .
* They have special homes to help the aides patients..
and also some homes for those who have mental problems.

This is a email received by Margaret Mary ( Founder of For The Heart ).
For the gifts that were given to Unity House.

Members of For the Heart Ministry,
Last Friday afternoon, when I came to meet you at our St. Ministry program, I was not expecting the amazing amount of handmade items that you arrived with. We are overwhelmed with gratitude over the amount of time and the prayers you put into these wonderful gifts.
Each year, Unity House provides shelter to over 200 adults and children who are directly or indirectly victims of violence. Most of these families have no one else to turn to for help, and need comprehensive services that only begin with our shelter. Our staff is able to offer many services including legal assistance, medical assistance, and counseling. We are very grateful when the community reaches out to help them as you have. It is a difficult time for victims and their families and during this period Unity House tries to bring a feeling of normalcy and safety to their lives.
For 35 years, Unity House has provided support for area residents in need. We have been able to be there for people when there were no other resources available. Lives have been enhanced, families have been fed, children have been given developmental support, mentally ill adults have been given the chance for a full, productive life and victims of domestic violence have been given shelter and hope.
Your beautiful items will be shared between the families in our domestic violence shelter and families who find themselves in need during the upcoming holiday season.
We have many children in need of warm hats, gloves, scarves and sweaters and it will be wonderful for them to receive something made with love and prayers.
With gratitude and awe for all your good works,
Judy

I recently made a Burial Gown, Bonnet & Booties for a very special baby girl named Zakiyah.
And a Memory Bracelet for Zakiyah's mother. Her mother is a very close friend of my daughter.
And I myself consider this family to be very special.

These are just a few samples of prayer cloths that are made. The white 3 Cross Prayer cloth and the pink Awareness Ribbon have been knitted. And the 3 Prayer Angels have been crocheted.
This Ministry has been such a blessing to me. I have made so many friends with lots of understanding and love. I enjoy reading the scriptures that are posted each day. In this Ministry I help make prayer cloths, (knitted or crocheted) which are sent or given to people in need of comfort.

That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love...

My name is April Leigh. I was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. I moved to Florida in 1975. I met my husband Tom and we married in 1977. We had 2 kids Jeremy Melvin & Jennifer Kay-Leigh. I also have to other kids from a previous marriage Jason Alan & Kristina Elizabeth. I have four grandkids and another one to be born in November of this year (2006). My life has revolved around my talent for sewing and other crafts. I love to create my own patterns for making things.
I've always tried to be helpful to other people when I can. I really enjoy crocheting and knitting. I also do some machine embroidering.
After my mother passed away I joined to two very special groups; For The Heart Ministry and Project Angel Kisses Ministry. I'm very happy to be apart of two very dedicated groups.
My favorite Chapter in the Bible is the 23rd Psalms. The Lord is my shepherd... This was one of the very first things I memorized in Sunday School. And will never forget.
